Case: EVOC JWS-1270 rugged tablet PC installed in the C919's EFB

Recently, China’s "domestic aircraft" C919 flood the screen, as China's first generation of independently developed civilian aircraft, C919’s industry chain involved more than 1000 domestic enterprises, universities and research institutes. As one member of them, EVOC developed JWS-1270 series of rugged tablet PC, installed in the C919's Electronic Flight Bag(EFB), which provide the smooth operation for the C919 aircraft!




The Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) is an electronic display system used in the cockpit as a flight assistant tool for the pilot. In the system design of the domestic C919 aircraft project, two Information System Display Terminals (ISDT) are required in the cockpit of each aircraft to provide the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) function to the pilot and co-pilot for displaying navigation data, performing calculations and checking during preparation.

ISDT for C919’s EFB with the following requirements:

High quality, required a Class 3 EFB hardware design.

Comprehensive functions, which can provide the aircraft pilot with electronic document browsing and mobile aeronautical chart functions.

Rich interface, able to access the local area network of airborne information system through 100 MB Ethernet, which can realize data interaction with the core avionics system.

For the special environment of aviation and the special requirements of the C919, EVOC researched and developed JWS-1270 series of rugged tablet PC with ruggedness, high stability, high reliability, waterproof, dustproof, vibration-proof, drop-proof, salt spray-proof, wide temperature and other product features. JWS-1270 can withstand the aircraft in takeoff, landing and bumps during the flight. At the same time, it can undertake several of application tasks such as communication, mapping survey, data acquisition and processing.
