EVOC Leads Development of National Standard GB/T 9813.4—2017
On May 31, 2017, the national standard GB/T 9813.4—2017, "General Specification for Computers—Part 4: Industrial Microcomputers", jointly developed by EVOC and the China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI), was officially released. The standard defines technical specifications, testing methods, quality assessment procedures, and guidelines for labeling, packaging, transportation, and storage of industrial microcomputers, providing a critical framework for their design and manufacturing.
As stipulated by the standard, industrial microcomputer systems must incorporate self-recovery functionality, with tiered requirements selectable based on product specifications:
· Tier 1: Ability to reboot and resume operations after system failure.
· Tier 2: Tier 1 functionality + preservation of critical runtime data.
· Tier 3: Tier 2 functionality + system recovery with breakpoint continuation.
The standard also introduces enhanced requirements for industrial microcomputers in the following areas:
· Testing & Inspection
· Safety
· Compatibility
· Reliability
The release of this standard not only establishes more comprehensive benchmarks for industrial microcomputer products—promoting higher-quality offerings in the market—but also positions EVOC as a standard-bearer in the industry. By setting rigorous specifications, EVOC gains a competitive edge while demonstrating leadership in advancing industrial microcomputer technology.
