EVOC Became A Core Member of the Research Center for the Protection on Intellectual Property Rights in Criminal Law

Recently, the People's Procuratorate of Shenzhen established the Research Center for the Protection on Intellectual Property Rights in Criminal Law, in order to enhance the protection on intellectual property rights using criminal law.
In the afternoon of October 14, 2008, the Procuratorate held the inaugural meeting of the Research Center at Wuzhou Guest House, gathering experts and scholars from law-making, judicial, legal and business communities. Members of the Center include the People's Procuratorate of Shenzhen, the People's Procuratorate of Nanshan District, Shenzhen and 12 high-tech enterprises such as EVOC, Huawei, ZTE, Tencent and Han's Laser. Sun Wei, General Manager of EVOC, made an important speech at the meeting on behalf of the members, expressing his support to the enhancement of the protection on intellectual property rights using criminal law and hoping that the Research Center would make itself an academic authority on such protection in criminal law in China and thus contribute to the social development of Shenzhen and China as a whole.
The Center invited 18 consultants, including Li Lianning, member and deputy secretary general of the Standing Committee of the National People′s Congress, Zhang Qiong, deputy director of the Legal Affairs Office of the State Council, as well as leaders and experts from the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, Ministry of Public Security and relevant departments of Shenzhen Municipality. Sixteen legal experts, including Xu Jingcun, Zhang Mingkai, Qu Xuewu, Li Jianming and Liu Chuntian, were invited to act as experts.
On October 15, the Research Center held its first Summit Forum on the Protection on Intellectual Property Rights in Criminal Law and Building Shenzhen into An Innovative City.
